The latest movie I watched was "Erin Brokovitch" (Julia Roberts). It was funny in places, also moving and inspiring but made me furious at times because of the (true) story about a major cover up and corruption from people in 'high and powerful' positions and the way in which extraordinary and things can happen to ordinary people. The movie also demonstrates how such things can change lives forever, sometimes destroy lives - yet no one person or persons is usually held properly accountable.

I was expecting it to be total rubbish, but you know what, I really enjoyed it. Its important though to take these films for what they are, too many people take them too seriously.
Nice bit of excapism!

I watched Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday. It gave the old sound system a good work out
. The story was not bad it made a few dull hours flyby. Forrest Gump is one of my favorite films in fact most things with Tom Hanks are ok. I must admit I still get the odd tear in the eyes when I watch Apollo 13, the bit when you have to wait for them to splash back down to earth and it flicks to his son in school waiting for news.

saw casino royale on sunday (the new one). best bond film ever. sure, there are certain scenes from other bond films that are better, but taking the whole film, this is easily the best. won't say much more if others ain't seen it yet!
the one thing you do need to know is that this is the story of the beginning of JB and not a 'continuation' of previous films.
hard to beat connery as bond, but daniel craig manages it.
it's a bit of a chick flick.....the girls in the office are lusting over craig big style!

Watched Pleasantville on TV the other night: well, I was half asleep but the movie got me going. It's a very clever plot with everything shot in mono and then bits gradually becoming coloured in. You have to see it and if I say any more I might spoil itOriginally posted by Pelethan View Post

Now that's not fair! My version is correct - indeed the official version, but Clarke explained the IBM trick as a spooky coincidence.
By the way, if you have T9 on your mobile phone and type IAN, ity comes up with IBM
