If this is true then I truly hope he picks himself up. I've no doubt that Rubens can do good things even though he's not in a Ferrari anymore. TBH, all those years of shadowing Schumacher probably took the winds well and truly out of Rubens' sales. How many races can you compete in knowing that you'll never be allowed to win the WDC before you get too deflated? I had hoped that moving away from Ferrari might have given Rubens the incentive to relight the fires. Perhaps if Honda do have a good car next year, he may surprise us all. If not, well...
It'd be nice to see him show what he can really do, given a reliable and well-performing car. That said, I'd rather see him as number one in a lesser team than number two at a top team. Daft as it sounds, I think he's happier that way. I think he likes to be the one doing the pushing, and not the one being pushed. Maybe I've got that wrong, though.
