Perhaps this a matter for Ian ??
Hi Dennis - it's a mystery to me why this url has gained a dpnow.com prefix. I'll correct it now - but I don't - at this moment - know how it went wrong. I've just done a test post with urls pasted in to the message and they all worked fine

    Ian

UPDATE: It's fixed now - for some reason the url acquired an extra 'http' at the beginning and this causes the system to assume it's a dpnow root url. You should simply be able to paste any url in. But what may have happened is that Jennifer copied a url that contained a link already, rather than just the text of the url.

No, not yet Stephen, I'm due to go back to the quack about it soon for a review so I'll see what she says. She certainly didn't mention it as a possibility last time - she just gave me the pain-killers and said "hope it goes away soon". I asked how long I could stay on the pain-killers and she said "indefinitely"!

Trouble is the pain killers are quite effective and I have to come off them for 24 hours to see if it's got any better

I struggled on 2 and when the DB nurse moved me up to 4 I just couldn't tolerate it so I wrote a begging letter to the GP and got "upgraded" to the modified release version. (The nurse warned me that the MR version is more expensive so I'd have to ask nicely as they try not to prescribe it to save a few bob!).

I found out about the MR version in the alt.support.diabetes.uk newsgroup which I'd recommend with the usual caveats around newsgroups - don't use your real name, ignore the idiots and spammers and lurk for a while to work out who the good guys are. I certainly got some good advice on the group in the early days.

I don't need statins at the moment as my cholesterol numbers are pretty good - I put this down to using a well known brand of spread that is "proven to reduce cholesterol".

Sounds as though Dennis's wrath should be aimed elsewhere

Yeah Pol, it's quite interesting listening to all these blokes gassing about their ailments and how many pills they take and the level of their Cholesterol etc. I thought that should be a women's domain.

I'm on 2 X850mg Metformins daily & definitely suffer embarassing side effects apart from gaseous interchanges!! I still work on the premise that between 4 & 8 being the normal blood glucose levels! I had my tests done on Monday this week & am waiting for the results! Up till now my norm has been 5.6 & considered very well controlled! However, my doc has been trying to convince me to go on cholesterol lowering meds, which up till now I've refused to take. Instead I've taken a natural liver tonic of milk thistle & dandelion root twice daily! I've lost 10kgs since being on them, without dieting! ( 6 months) so shall see what results are first of Cholesterol. It may just be a coincidence!
