So do I but it would be Cadbury's here in the UK not Hershey's. Sadly its a treat I can only have very, very, very, occasionally I'm diabetic

Snap , but I do tend to eat chocolate in moderation - all the time my HbA1c results stay around the 6 mark that is! My next test is due next week so I'll be expecting the curly finger from nursey soon after

I had a blood test only yesterday, results next week.

Wish mine were around 6, my nurse would be happy, I have one those home blood test machines and mine is usually around 7.5 starved. She is trying to sort me out with some pills that will help, but the first she prescribed had some embarrassing side effects, tried a different variety , no side effects but not very effective.

Its interesting that 10 years ago these sort of sugar levels would not have been considered to make a person diabetic, the threshold figures have been lowered and now encompass more people.

            Re: Calling All Chocoloate Lovers!

When I click on the link I get a new page pops up with the message:-
'Error 404: NOT FOUND' 'Your browser cannot find the URL that you typed in'

This happens in Internet Explorer and also in Firefox, yet if I copy and paste the URL into the URL address space it finds the required page with no trouble.
I have had this occur quite a lot recently. Can anyone suggest the cause and possibly a cure?

I get the same Dennis, its because the link is added to the DPNow.com url. You need to delete that part of it and it will work, alternatively copy and past the link. I find it best to embed the link in some text

Stephen - Thanks for taking the trouble to answer my query - as you can see from my original query I had already sussed out that cut and paste worked. However what you say about the 'Dpnow' bit being added is most inconvenient - as one of the forum administrators can you not get anything done to eliminate this inconvenient anomaly.?

Ahhh, the dreaded Metformin I assume, otherwise known as Metfartin . I had the same problem (it's quite common) but I persuaded them to give me the slow release (AKA modified release) version of the drug and those embarrassing trouser cough problems went away

I'm on gliclazide as well, along with 3 meds for high blood pressure so 9 tablets a day, plus I've been suffering with sciatica for about a year so sometimes need to take up to 8 high-strength painkillers a day.

I'm falling to bits......the sciatica is also stopping me from riding my mountain bike and going to the gym so I'm struggling to get exercise and my weight down, which would obviously help the diabetes.

Walking round the zoo last weekend was a PITA, literally! Any fellow sciatica sufferers will know what I mean!

Perhaps we should have a medical board on the forum

Seriously though I don't think we need to air ALL our ailments publicly.

Regarding the sciatica Stuart, have you ever had any back physio or other treatment for that. I once had good success from a Chiropractor.

Heck, I'm only on 2 metformin a day with no side effects, though take statins also for the old cholestral

Dennis, I don't think its a fault of the forum software. I've experimented with the link Jennifer posted. If you paste it into the insert link dialogue there is no problem. Also that particular link is a long one which maybe the cause of the problem. If you just use the basic .com url it works every time to the same page destination

                            That's ok.

                            Feel free to carry on.

Stephen - I still feel that it is b----y inconvenient to have to cut and paste a URL which someone has included in a post in order to get to the recommended site. This ruins the whole point of being able to click on a URL. Surely the DPNow forum software ought not intervene and I would have thought it was possible to remove this.

Perhaps this a matter for Ian ??
