Hey Pol!!
Following an impulse I came looking for you in the forum and found this. So glad to know that you are HOME! The healing accelerates away from the stress of hospital. Sending you healing energies, too.
We're fine though the holidays found me with FLU+FLU which screwed a few months. Sharon had her right knee replace last June and says "No more surgeries!" I guess her collection of titanium joint will stop at two...
Since laughter is good medicine, I'm adding a picture of me on my 75th to document my slithering into the last quarter of my first century. Bob

Thanks Bob. You're looking good, as handsome as ever. I hobbling not too far behind you at 72. Geez where have the years gone, eh.

Glad Sharon has had the surgery and I trust she's now pain free and mobile. Your SO right about hospitals being stressful. I'm ravenous, can't stop eating at the moment.

I'm still due for more physiotherapy at home. I'm aiming for independence around the house and garden. I sorely miss the vehicles but couldn't manage the campervan, couldn't manage David's 4x4 and my own car just got too, too old so my friend is now my wheels when she's not working to try to repay her massive mortgage after HER husband also died a few years ago (on my birthday). So we're both chugging along as best we can and sharing resources as and when we can.

Old age ain't a lot of fun but manageable if we can rise to the challenges.

You take good care of yourself and best wishes to Sharon too.

I hope you are now feeling better and can relax at home. I'm quite surprised to find this thread after a few years' absence here --- unanticipated news.

I myself was hospitalized twice last year. I had brain infarction early last year and chose to have heart sugery later in Dec.,since doctors strongly recommended me to do so.

I know you can rise to the challenges. Wish you will restore to good health and strength soon.

Hi Yoshi - as you know I think of you almost every day using the excellent coffee grinder you gave me - is it really four years ago that we last met

I heard from Pol's son and she has had some health scares since her husband died suddenly earlier in the year.

I do hope you are well and that the situation in Fukushima is much improved!

Pol here.
Congestive heart fsilure, pulmonary oedema.
Not managing well at home alone. In residential care home atm. May sell house eventually. Too big, too lonely there, frightening when can't breath.

Sorry you had bad time, Yoshi Keep fighting against the setbacks. Old people in this home inspire and encourage me. Don't be alone and afraid of residential care if required for a while.
Can't hold camera and zimmer but still use camera phone.
Nice to hear from Yoshi.
Also talk to Autumn email. She's doing okay.
Only have old Kindle to use online. Split screen annoying but can't fix it.

Pops okay, dog had to be put down.
Rodbender, aka Shoppy, having health issues also his wife but plodding on.

Nice to keep up with online friends from time to time if possible.

Hi Ian,
time flies like an arrow - I can't believe it already passed four years since then. I can clealy recall the trip to Mt. Fuji on that day.
I'm getting better. The main doctor in charge told me last month that the operation was successful and I just need to vist the hospital once a year from now on - no more frequently.
The radiological dosage (R-D) at my home in Fukushima was 1.2 micro SV six years ago but now 0.20 micro SV in July this year.
They say the R-D you get from the round air trip between Tokyo and NY is around 0.2 micro SV, so it's virtually none according to my "renewed" standard.

I hear that you, too, have a hot summer this year in Europe. Take care and My best regards to you and Julia.

Hi Pol,
glad to hear from you. Looks like better for you to stay at the residential care home, since, I suspect, that pulmonary oedema gives a lot of trouble in sleeping in the night - so I heard.
I think I can partially understand the difficulties you might have had when staying alone at home. My mother was in a similar situation and chose to stay at a care house when she was 75 (and will be 93 this year).
Having good people to talk with and can share the sufferings you and other people have seems important to her.

The medicines I take for metabolic syndrome give me side-effect which is painful but otherwise everything looks to me ok.
Mental strength seemingly plays an important role when you are in a difficult situation. That's what I learned from observing my mother.
I wish you the same. Having a good hobby like photography will surely help you.
