  • Just seen a quote from an American public health professor about Trump's way of dealing with the virus

She said at home she has a 2.5-year-old child and even she knows if she puts her hands over her eyes the monster hasn't really gone away

      That's a wise 2 1/2 year old.

My home state of Vermont has the lowest rate of infection in the United States but the rest of the country has a long way to go. Here are a few screenshots from Johns Hopkins University of the status of the growth of the pandemic throughout the world. We're not out of the woods by any means.

      • The roads where I live are getting near back to normal, as far as traffic flow goes.

It will be interesting to see how the figures change, and how the R number changes in a few days / weeks, with the eased locked down.

            • Hi everyone

We have 0 cases in Guernsey and its been like that for almost two weeks now and have had no no cases for 36 days. Are borders are still closed and will be for a long time yet I am sure. 99% of school children will be going back on Monday with only the very last year not going back. Pubs opened this Monday just gone and a lot of things are almost returning to normal ( new normal ) . Social distancing is still very active and will also be for a while to come.

Stay safe everyone and I hope to be back shooting and posting soon

                That is brilliant news, Pete.

I don't blame the authorities for keeping the borders closed. Makes a lot of sense.

Also looking forward to seeing your photos again.

Unfortunately, I haven't been using my camera, as I took on a large updating job at home. It's coming to an end fortunately and I am working to a time line.

Be pleased when I can get out wit my camera.

Stay safe over there, and enjoy having a pint or two.

                • Hi Garry

They closed the boarders really early and also anyone coming into the Island has to self isolate for 14 days. They will fine people up to £10,000 if they break the rules. One person came back to the Island last week and broke the rules twice. He was fined £6000, £3000 for each offence.

That really is good news for the people of Guernsey. I hope that one day, we will be able to do the same here in the UK.

We are now 42 days without any new cases which is how we are able to move forward so quickly

                        • 90 Days into Lockdown. Summer (and mosquito season) is just around the corner. Penny announced she wanted the sleeping porch screened off. That became this morning's Lockdown project.

We were out in the countryside today and as I lifted my camera I was bitten by a horse fly!

                          • It amazes me how many people do NOT wear a face mask, while in the superstores, shopping.

I hate wearing masks. But I wont go into a supermarket without one.

Also very suprising how many people simply dont understand arrows

                            • Penny found some Ski Boot themed fabric so I made several masks for friends. Folks in Vermont are pretty good about wearing these. In the entire state we've only had 56 deaths and half of those sadly were in one nursing home.
