People already started stockpile food yesterday

City Hall has ordered Bangkok shopping malls to close from Sunday until April 12 as it steps up the battle against the spread of the coronavirus.

Most stores in malls will be shuttered but exceptions will be made for supermarkets, pharmacies, food take-out and delivery and other essential services, Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang said on Saturday.

The governor also ordered the closure of other venues considered high-risk areas because they attract large crowds of people. They include weekend markets and an expanded list of sports and entertainment venues, in addition to those ordered to close earlier.

With all this Corvid-19 hitting the news its easy to forget colds and flues have not gone away.

I went to bed Tuesday night feeling no different to how i normally feel, woke up at 2.15 am to go for a pee,i could hardly stand my joints hurt so much, extremely high temperature and i mean high and blinding headache, as you can imagine my first thought was sh1t.
I was this bad for a few hours which i spent worrying, eventually it started to ease and feel more like a bad cold virus or mild flue, the next morning i was still bad but better than the first morning. since then the trend has been slow but sure improvements so hoping its only the normal sort of infection.

We had been in isolation for two weeks with me staying in the car while my wife did the shopping due to my age and health.

My wife has gotten me out of the house for daily walks. She suggested creating a "Non-Travel" video for our Youtube Travel Channel showing how we're finding different ways to pass the time.

I downloaded a slide scanner app for my iPhone and have already digitized a couple of hundred slides from decades ago. It's a pretty simple program. You just set a slide on a backlit surface., say the word GO and instantly the phone takes a shot, crops it, rotates it (if necessary) and corrects the color. The result is nowhere near the quality of the original but it gives me a fairly quick way to digitize thousands of slides that haven't seen the light of day in 40+ years. Here's an example. This is my daughter who is now 46.

Two out of the three in our house have had cold symptoms for almost two weeks now.

Pretty sure that it is only a cold. Both of us have aches and pains, and sore thoughts and tickly noses in the evenings, and we get up in the mornings fine.

Then the cold symptoms star again during the day.

Well, following the advice of the PM that we should not visits mothers on mothers day.

We phoned our daughter who desperately wanted to see us, and said that we felt is would be sensible to follow the advice given, and that they should not come over.

She was disappointed, but agreed and understood.

We noticed that other families in the cul-de-sac didn't have visitors today either, so assumed they also followed the advice given.

All except one family. A large family. All turned up . The worrying thing is, that the women all work in nursing homes. I would have thought they would have kept away.

But the requests and advice given, sometimes fall on deaf ears. Shame !

                        Hi

Me and my wife are fine. Island is not in lock down as such but anybody coming into the Island now has to self isolate for 14 days even if they have no symptoms. Shops like elsewhere are getting hit hard but for now we still have food coming into the Island A lot of people are working from home and the schools like in the uk have closed on Friday for the foreseeable future. On Friday we only had 2 confirmed cases but that was due to having slow results in two days it has now jumped to 20 My wife was called by her boos this evening and told not to go in to work this week and take the following week as part of her holidays and the week after that to also stay of work (3 in total) For me it is work as normal but I can see that changing as more places shut down or just will not want outsiders coming in.

So stay safe everyone and I hope to see you and your photos on the flip side of all this

You may well find that work will stop altogether before long.

                          Stay say .

Julia is s teacher but has just finished a maternity leave cover placement and although she had some interviews and one job offer, that was withdrawn after the schools closure was announced. She also tutors maths but that's looking bleak after the exams this year were cancelled.

One of my daughters is probably one of the 1.5 million identified as at at-risk because she takes immunosuppressant therapy for arthritis, and had pneumonia after a chest infection a couple of years back. She's also still away at university and prefers to stay there with her housemates for now (she's doing her final year project). She is sensible and her housemates know about her condition.

I haven't noticed supermarket problems as much as some reports. My other daughter in London is having some particular problems finding staples locally. Panic buying is abhorrent, but we're OK so far where we are. She is a bit frustrated as she is a 2nd year medical student. I'm sure she would want to be in there helping.

If the weather is OK tomorrow I might go for a walk with the camera as we are being encouraged to do as long as we keep 2 metres away from others. Fortunately we are in the suburbs with plenty of open space and the canal nearby.

First and I suspect last trip out for groceries for the week.

The roads and the supermarket I visited were surprisingly quiet. There was more on the shelves, than I have seen since the start of the virus.

Couldn't get everything we wanted. But not complaining.

Nancy and i have finally admitted we should accept/admit to the group we are in, we have ask one of her daughters to do our shopping for us, not easy when you can still do it yourself but just know you shouldn't.
