This is my first time on a forum! I am a photographer in Rickmansworth, Herts. There seem to be alot of us here! However I specialse in taking head shots of Ladies who hate having their photo taken, usually for them to use on their website, business stationary, conferences or even dating agencies. I also take photographs of the product the ladies sell, art, jewellery etc. I am always looking for new ideas and advice. I do take photos of gentlemen, but they have to be friends of freinds. I look forward to reading up on all there is on dpnow. I was lucky enough to meet Julia Burley at an Athena meeting, who told me all about dpnow.

Re: Hello
Hi Lisa, welcome to DPNow. I'm a pro togfa too, though I must say I tend to keep work and personal stuff very separate as far as the forum and galleries are concerned.
I always think that the measure of a good photographer is what they produce in their own time and not what they are paid for. Personal work tells us more about the photographer, than the majority of boring commissioned stuff.
Some will disagree with me I've no doubt, but that's my feeling for what its worth

Do you have a studio, or do you visit clients? We're always interested in what kind of kit we all use, too

Thank you for your welcome. I have an Interfit set of lights(Mickey Mouse equipment I have been told, but it was all I could afford!!) I was trying to limit myself to headshots for Ladies to use on websites etc, men too if they are refered to me by a friend, but I am getting requests for going out and about, in this economic climate, I can't afford to be too picky, but I still have to work around my kids. I will have many questions for you in the future I am sure. My camera is a pentax K10.
Take care
Lisa

I'm also very critical of my own work, and often feel its not good enough. I regularly see stunning work on the internet, and it makes me question the standard of my own.

Blimey Stephen, are you kidding? Your work is outstanding so if you think YOUR work isn't good enough, what hope have the rest of us got?
