But in honesty, this was an experiment to generate more interest in the forum that didn't work as well as I had hoped, so it won't be repeated. In future I will seek to provide participating members more of an opportunity to benefit from competitions.

      Ian,

I feel a lot of the regulars did not enter because they believed they didn't have a chance. The regulars know where to go if they want to win something and us regulars all know exactly where that is. These other contests do not bother me either way.

I am sympathetic because I would have preferred a regular to have posted the best slogan, but I can't agree with what you have suggested because the competition was open to all - I simply don't understand why anyone would think that they didn't have a chance?

          Ian,

I do apologize if I offended you! To me there is not a single thing wrong these contests and my intent was not to infer that there was.Let me say it in a different way. The regulars pretty much stick with the salon for the Kingston Memory card. and it seems to me that most of the "front page" contests are entered by those just signing up to get something free. There is nothing wrong with that and Hopefully some of these people might actually stick around for more than a contest.

Was it your intention to use the slogan, or was it just a competition? I enjoyed reading most of them. Some would have looked nice down the side of a London bus.

I just wanted to post my appreciation for having won the slogan contest to win the totally amazingolympus camera.......in response to some of the postings.......COWCRZY06I am as gobsmacked as anyone to have my slogan chosen.... i too didn't believe i stood a chance...so if a slogan comp comes up in the future give it a go....you have nothing to lose....i am certainly no expert(just a bit jammy in this case i guess).I really am chuffed to bits to win this camera as loved it when i saw it....and currently have a really old fashioned, non-digital, camera, so it really is an appreciated win. So.....I shall hopefully take a few pics with it, and techno phobe that i am ,shall try and download some of my efforts and contribute a bit more to the forum from now on....so Ian....it did generate more interest in the forum......if only from me!
