Hello there my name is Tony (easty-uk) I'm at present living in Northern Sweden, originally from West Yorkshire over there in the UK. My main interests are photography (addicted), fishing, mountain biking and snowmobiling. I still have an awful lot to learn in the photography world and I'm eager to listen and learn from you all on the site. How did I find out about this site ? From Pol of course !

    best wishes.

    Tony.

Easty-uk I'm sure you will enjoy being part of this forum. I noticed your name on the members list and was pleased to see you had signed up. Compared to most on here I'm new also, and was at first a little nervous to post. I know you take your hobby seriously and this forum seems to have some very experienced photographers on board. Enjoy your stay. Regards (shoppy as Pol always called me) Ron

Welcome Tony! It's great to see yet another new 'face' on the DPNow forum. As Ron seems to have found out, posting here is not nearly as nerve-wracking as you might think. Looking forward to some pictures from you, hopefully

I've messed around with snowmobiles in Finland and the Rockies - great fun

They have plenty of acceleration, though they don't go that fast - well, not the once tourists are let loose on (with a GPS on board the fastest I managed was 40MPH), but they certainly feel a lot faster!

Ian, you have been riding the wrong type of skoter(snowmobile), The one I have has 160hp and can do 0-60mph in 3.6s and has a top speed of around 110-115mph depending on the day, Great fun....but expensive to run. 3.66lilers of fuel every 10km and that's on a good day !... lol

Haha! 40MPH felt fast enough for me and my passenger was almost being thrown off the back with the acceleration

I'd forgotten about all the many pictures you have of your snowmobile and also the more recent ones you took of your friend+snowmobile flying through the air at a (?)racing event. I think they were the shots you took when you were trying out the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8.. possibly the time you managed to get invited into the press area?

No doubt Peter, coupekid and Ian and some of the others would be interested in seeing some of those as they're 'into' speedy-motor type stuff.
