    I haven't tried the 38 macro and don't have the telescoping tube either. (if you ever wish to get rid of yours, let me know) That doesn't mean they won't work as well as the cheap extension tubes I got of of ebay and the OM lenses I have now though.

    You will need a OM adapter to what ever digital body you shoot. Focus wide open, stop down to meter and shoot.
    On my Oly's I use either A mode with center weighted metering or manual mode.

    From what I can tell, the 38mm can achieve over 6x macro on the auto tube. That pretty good, maybe not as much as the 20mm f2 but better than my 35mm macro EC 20 set up or even the Canon MP-e65.
    you could probably get close to the spider face shot above at full extension and the closest focus.

      Jim,

      Here's a 20 year old shot of hair clumps on a caterpillar taken with the 38mm, telescopic extension tube and T28 twin flash;

      Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. Terry Pratchett.

        Very nice David. I think that set up will do you well on digital.
