  • Photography..A way to make people happy

    Hello,
As a kid I always wanted a good camera but couldn't afford it.

My first camera was a used Canon AE-1, which my mother gave me
as a gift ( still have it ). For many years since I was the only one taking pics in my family.

After a close call with death, I made copies of all my family photos and gave a complete album to each of my family members.

Many years later, my nephew got married, and what a suprise when he and his bride ran a slideshow of both their families, and many images of my side
of the family were my photos I shot of my family over the years.
It was a very emotional and beautiful.

Now with Digital and the WWW, there are so many opportunities
to make people happy by taking and displaying images of them
which they can share with their family and friends around the world.

This places me on top of the world, photographically and in many other ways.

I have good reason to smile when I say "Smile".

    Smile, Nicholas

Lovely post Nicholas. I too have been taking photos for many years and my first camera was my grandad's box brownie. (Does that make me sound ancient?).

I agree that when you have a life changing experience (I had a stroke in 2003), it puts life into a different perspective. Although I'm a one-handed photographer, I make use of anything around me to get good shots. My dog is my model at the moment. I smile when I see his smiling face.

Kind regards and welcome to the forum.

    Gina
