  • PMA 09: More on the new Samsung NX hybrid system camera

Here is a summary or excerpt from an article that has just been published on DPNow:

We have been talking to Samsung UK's corporate director, Rob King, about the newly announced Samsung NX interchangeable lens hybrid camera system, and the future of Samsung's relationship with Pentax. And we have some close-in shots of the NX mock-ups on display here at PMA.

    Hi Ian,
Since the EVF is a serious component of this kind of camera, can you get anyone to discuss the present state of the art in EVFs and offer any idea of what the future might bring?

Hi Bob, unfortunately Samsung were saying practically nothing more than the press press release contents at the show. So an answer to your question will have to wait - sorry!

        Hi Ian,
I just read a translation of an interview with Oly about mFT and the interesting tid-bit was that Oly was working on a high speed EVF. In an interview from a year ago, Oly said that they didn't think EVFs were quite "there" yet.
So, now we have Panasonic, Oly & Samsung playing with EVFs for serious entries in the market. This should bode well for "the state of the tool" and soon we'll all be discussing LCD apertures and organic dye life expectancies in OLEDs....
