DK publish Bird; a visual guide to the birds of the world
DK publish Bird; a visual guide to the birds of the world
Step out of your door, almost anywhere in the world, and before long you will see birds of one kind or another. From the publisher that brought you Earth, Animal, Ocean, Human and Rainforest, DK is delighted to introduce Bird, the latest in the series and published in association with BirdLife International

But can you stick it in your pocket and walk around with it?!
The old man's got several modern bird books, but the best one we have is one I bought back in the 70s. It doesn't have photos, only drawings, but is often more accurate in identifying birds that some of the photos - some of which leave much to be desired as the colours are somewhat 'off'.
Re: DK publish Bird; a visual guide to the birds of the world
The bird bible for Southern Africa is called "Roberts" and for years it also only featured drawings and of course the written blurb. Now they bring out this amazing thing which is a handheld electronic gizmo with all the drawings, writing and added onto it now they include a button you can press for the call of each and every species. Of course this has its uses for identification by sound but sometimes you can use this to actually call to real birds and get them to come in closer for a good photograph!!

Perhaps Pops should publish one.........
The publishers only sent us its jacket - but it'd definitely not a pocket book - it's a coffee table book.
