Sony seem to raise the bar with every camera they release. This model seems so packed with features and innovations that you have to wonder how long before they really break the stranglehold of the market that Nikon and Canon currently enjoy. It can only be inertia of current users of those brands to change which is delaying the inevitable.
Old hands like me, of course, shy away from any features that rely upon in-camera interpolation but Sony seem to be implimenting this so slickly that it is unlikely that the new generation of photographers will share the same reservations.
I also dislike in the extreme any idea of auto cropping by the camera but this could actually be a good learning tool for beginners and even pros may benefit in some situations, such as event photography where maybe several hundred guests need to be photographed upon arrival and the onus is on moving them through as quickly as possible. It would reduce the need for careful framing at the point of capture and also remove the need to crop manually in pp, important if the pictures need to be ready for viewing while the event is still in progress and time is of the essence.
Like it or not I suspect Sony has a bigger part to play in the future of photography than many of us care to concede.
