  • Picture of the Day - Wednesday 5th August 2009

Here is a summary of today's DPNow Picture of the Day:

Here we are on another Wednesday and another Digital Photography Now Picture of the Day. This time we feature a photographer's pride and joy, yes - his car! It's a great piece of photography enhanced by dramatic and creative post processing. If you would like the prospect of being chosen to featured on the DPNow POTD, register on our discussion forum, netting free gallery space, and the rest is up to you! And you can help us decide who gets featured in future by nominating your favourites from the DPNow gallery.

by the way Ian, have you considered my suggestion from a while back, to add the text and picture to this actual feed to prevent users having to click through and back to view the image. I am convinced it would generate more interest? and responses, rarely do I see a response here to POTD

        Hi Ben,

The forum is only acting as an alert to the article. It's no use everyone hiding here in the forum. We're making a concerted effort to increase the number of articles outside of the forum.

If anyone doesn't follow the link from the forum notification, then either they aren't interested, which is fair enough, or they will just have to miss out if they can't be bothered to click through.

The stats do show that the POTD articles are quite popular and have higher hit rates than the forum notification would suggest. Around 10,000 people visit the site as a whole per day, so most don't even go to the forum at all.

I'd like more of them to find and enjoy the forum, and the articles do bring some people the forum's way.
