  • Picture of the Day - Tuesday 2nd December 2008

Here is a summary or excerpt from an article that has just been published on DPNow:

Today's DPNow Picture of the Day centres around some abandoned supermarket trolleys and the Thames river bank. A strange combination that has a certain quality all of its own. You, too, could be featured on the DPNow.com POTD, simply register on our discussion forum, netting free gallery space, and the rest is up to you!

Tom I really think you have set out to do what you wanted to do with this photo. It really does show how we are messing up this planet of ours. The thing is I can almost understand someone take a trolley but why 3 ??.

Congratulations Tom on POTD! A superbly creative shot Tom! The composition enhanced further in interest by blurring of the water as well as the exposed river bed! Well done!

Hmm, a sad fact of today unfortunately. On first glance the trollies look fairly freshly dumped until you see the well-established algae on the wheels. Good observation and well executed Tom.
