      I preferred the original...but then I would, wouldn't I!

Of course its all personal choice at the end of the day, and I applied some personal choice in what I did to the image. The degree of blur and vignetting is infinately variable. I made a judgement on that and stand by it.

When I look at the top picture, I see a little girl and a funny hat, not to mention Mum & Dads legs and arms behind. When I look at the second picture I see a little girl. Its artistic license I know, but its all to do with picture making.

Agree that the software is great. However, it can't handle large files. I use a 1Ds III and it won't process my files. Called the company and they agree.

Presumably they couldn't offer any help then In fairness though your files are about the biggest around from a dSLR, but I wouldn't be happy if I had the problem and had just invested in the software. Have you found out what the size threshold is?

It seems to work at around 80MB...maybe a bit more. My files in TIFF are about 120 and it just freezes. The company doesn't yet have a fix.

Read the article with interest - copied original, opened in CS2. Used lasso tool to circumscribe the infant and set feather to 30 - inversed the selection and set Gaussian Blur to about 3.5 - lose some contrast in the blurred area and Hey Presto I get the same effect.

Can't post the image but anyone can try it for themselves - saved loadsa money.
