    That's not good.

    I had similar, some time back, when I bought a brand new Canon 7D, online.

    On arrival I plugged it into my pc, only to find it showed approximately 3000 shutter activations and the guarantee was for Australia.

    Fortunately the sales person refunded me straight away. Then I purchased the 7D from a local Camera shop that I have dealt with and know to be trustworthy.
