Re: Nikon announces the new Nikon D7100

Here are a few more pictures of the new Nikon D7100:

Key points of the new D7100 include:

    • Upgrade to 51 point AF (replacing 39-point system in D7000)
    • Upgrade to 24.1 megapixel APS-C sensor
    • No low pass filter - like the Nikon D800E - for maximum resolution

As with the D7000 the body has some magnesium alloy plates and environmental sealing. High speed continuous shooting rate remains 6fps.

There is also a 1.3x cropped mode which uses the central 15.4 megapixels of the sensor, useful for telephoto shooting.

Nikon hasn't endowed the D7100 with an articulating LCD screen like the less robust and lower specification (but equal 24 megapixel resolution) D5200.

So - what's the general opinion? Who's going to buy one?
