Here is a summary or excerpt from an article that has just been published on DPNow:

Unfortunately, the weather was overcast during our main spell with the camera here in Croatia. Most of the samples taken below were shot on the historic island of Hvar, which is around a 40 minute boat ride from Split. Both the 18-55 standard zoom and the 16mm pancake were used. We have also included some very high ISO shots.

I managed to take a few shots under sunny conditions just before the sample cameras had to be returned and these will be added shortly.

I'm grateful for some encouraging and useful feedback from Tristan on our NEX-5 sample images:

Your NEX5 photos are some of the better samples I have seen posted around the review sites, so I thank you for them.
It seems like other reviewers from other sites can't take 'normal' photos and feel the need to get 'arty' with their shots making it difficult to judge the quality.

As far as quality goes I have no doubt they are as capable as an entry DSLR, but it is the quality of the glass that matters and there are signs of heavy softness in the corners of the zoom lens in particular and that cheap 'consumer quality' glass look from 10 years ago. The 16mm lens images look much better with a cleaner look to them like it is a higher quality glass.

First of all, I love the format and your presentation, I was not very interested in the Sony at first, but you have change my view on this. I always carries around the new Sony HX5 for the sweeping pano function, as I wanted to record the atmosphere wherever I go and this is one of the best one on the market. The only complain I have is it only works on the widest angle setting, but with this new camera I could use any of my Leica M's or longer lenses to do the same job. I may not like the fact that the camera don't have view finder like my EPL1 (which I love very much), but for that function alone I may buy one to carry with me, hopefully this body will give me a much higher quality than the HX5 so I can make larger prints.
