Next time, I'd like to source an image from one of the forum members if possible.

It took such a long time to sort through all my photos to find one that needed improving

Lightroom 3 beta 2 is free until June and has excellent noise reduction tools, see:

Hi all, this is isn't a conventional forum challenge You need to download the original file from the article page and then send your reworked version to the email address there as well. It needs to be high resolution, not just web resolution. I will print the best candidates and evaluate from the prints.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to reproduce your problem with the page - I can see the page using IE8 with compatibility mode on or off.

Are you possibly using any add-ons or utilities like ad-blockers that could be the culprit?

Unfortunately, I have not been able to reproduce your problem with the page

I get a freeze up with a lot of internal links.
I overcome this by .......
first I click on the link, the one in your previous post for instance.
The page opens but freezes.
I then minimise the frozen page and carry on doing other stuff for a while.
After a few minutes I get a message warning me about a script that is running which could effect my browsing. It asks if I want to stop the script. I click 'Yes' and the minimised page then works perfectly.

You need to go to the article page at http://dpnow.com/7021.html and download the full file. There's a choice of downloading either the original RAW or jpeg file.

Rework the full file to do the photofix challenge file then email it to the address shown on that article page.

Ian then prints the reworked images and evaluates them from the prints.

We've started to receive some entries. Remember that the deadline is Monday, 3rd May. Here are the download links for the original image files:

Please note that these files and their images are copyrighted. Permission is granted for use and editing/manipulating for the sole purpose of entering this challenge. The images and derived images are not to be used for any other purpose without permission. In return, we promise not to use entries to the challenge for commercial gain without permission from the entrant.

Submit your entry

Once you have completed your work on the image, send a JPEG version to us attached to an email via [email protected]. Please ensure that the file does not exceed 5MB. If your email service won't take the attachment because it's too large, get in touch and we'll arrange an alternative delivery method.

mmmm, Im not being awkward, its not like me is it
but it seems too much faffing than it needs to be, could we not just alter the pic Ian has posted?
I can see the method in the madness, as Ian gets to see the full resolution image what people have altered but I think it would be better if we could just do a quick fix.
I suppose its fine if your retired, kids left home, grass is trimmed nicely, missuz is at bingo and you just have that much time on your hands that you can find time to alter someone elses raw file for the fun of it, maybe im missing the point
Ohh and why am I blabbing on about something that I don't have time to blab on about Bot bots to make, nappies to change, work to go to, its all go in the wignall house. Someone said I should start a blog but I dont no, who would be interested in my life? It would be the same thing everyday
