Just spotted that CANON is looking to develop a Mirrorless Interchangable lens camera - If the big guns are following the Oly/Pana/Sam design that must indicates that this may well be the future of Digital Cameras and the passing of the optical viewfinder.

I'm afraid I don't see this at all. Firstly, so far as I know Olympus have never said this is the route they will be following. Infact iirc they have stated their commitment to optical viewfinders and the current style of FT cameras as in the E series. Secondly the mirrorless interchangeable lens camera is surely no more than a genre that Canon etc may feel they need to catch up on. However I really don't think they would take such a bold step as to do away with the conventional dSLR format
As I see it, mirror-less interchangeable lens cameras, for some years yet (5-10 years I'd say) will be specifically focused on compact and easy to use hybrid cameras that have been pioneered by Panasonic, Olympus, and now Samsung (with Sony committed, too) - but I don't see existing mirror reflex DSLRs being replaced for a long while yet. Eventually, maybe, but not for 5-10 years.
