This may sound like a really inane comment, esp when there is so much groundbreaking stuff about these new cameras, but I really love the colour of that G2

Stephen, do you mean the red one? I quite like the blue

Here is a better video of the touch screen in action that I recorded yesterday at Focus:

Yes, the red one, I love it.
That's a great video too, quality wise I mean. Touch screens seem like a good idea, but in reality it may take a little getting used to, esp if you hold the camera with the left hand and have to touch with your right. Or maybe for some people who hold with the right hand and have to use the left hand to touch, it could be awkward. If its on a tripod I suppose it would be better

One issue Panasonic may have to address is that the eye-sensor for the electronic viewfinder (which switches the LCD off and the EVF on when your face gets close to the viewfinder) blanks the screen inconveniently when your hand strays to close to the viewfinder.

The screen is not a capacitative type (like iPod Touch and iPhones) so finger operation can be a bit hit and miss, but it does work with a stylus and the camera will be supplied with one.
