  • Stolen Camera Gear

The following was posted in another forum, if anyone does see anything, let me know and I will send you the original link, don't want to be seen to 'advertise' other sites in here...

If there are any keen photographers from France reading this please keep your eyes open at your local camera shops, second hand dealers and classified ads.

    Oooh, bad news, indeed.

Might be a good time to raise the topic of camera gear insurance - hands up who has no specialist insurance and has a nagging feeling they ought to? What does standard household insurance cover you for these days?

I guess he is right not to hold out much hope of getting any of that stuff back. I would hate to have any of my gear stolen. I do have it all covered and not under the household insurance.

But I think it was a good idea to post the stolen gear on the Web. First, for the remote chance that he gets it back, and second, to possibly find the thieves and let them get their just reward.

In a case like this, I wonder if it would be a good idea to include the serial numbers of the gear.

I have asked if he has the serial number in the original forum post, I think it would be useful, as the thieves already have them anyway so it's not going to help them, but would help ID the items.
