  • Nikon D300

No particular reason for this post, other than that I wanted to share the fact that I have a new camera and am really pleased with it! It's a Nikon D300. Because the D300S has recently come out, the D300 finally dropped within my price range.

So now I have a low-end professional camera, with lots of scary manual settings and no automatic modes! Can't wait for the weather to dry up so that I can get out and use it.

Ooh, how nice of Santa to bring you an early pressie! Don't blame you for being excited about your new toy I'm sure you'll be posting lots of sample shots - once you've got your head around the manual settings Enjoy!

Hehe, thank you. I'm having a few problems... I think I need to read the manual.

Manual? You mean these things come with a manual? Well THAT'S where I've been going wrong

Of course there are auto modes on the D300 , or do you mean there aren't any scene mode?

Out of interest what attracted you to the D300 instead of the D90?

Hehe, yes, it's about an inch thick! I've worked out how to do bracketed exposures, which I use a lot, but the rest is still a mystery to me.

I keep looking fondly at the camera, then glaring at the rain out of the window.

The D300 is an excellent camera. I'm just curious as to how people make their choices
