  • Sony Takes Full-Frame To New Lows

I know there was a thread on this board regarding the relevancy of full-frame.

I guess Sony must think so! $2000 US.

    We live in exciting times!

Are the sensors the backlit versions?

I read somewhere that Sony wants to do video right, if they are going to do it.

Could they be working on a non-reflex system?

The Exmor CMOS sensors used in the 550 and 500 are NOT back-lit, this was specifically pointed out.

Do you happen to know when A850 will be introduced in Japan? It looks to me that both A850 and the new lens 28-75 f1/2.8 are not announced in Japanese market, which is not unusual these days.
I was away home for a month and came back a week ago - lots of works for catching up.

After searching for more info, I learned that A500 & A550 are for Europe and North America only. And at least as far as A850 is concerned, it looks like that the menu is written in 15 languages but excluding Japanese. hmmm...so they do not have a plan to introduce it into this market? then what instead?

Hi Yoshi, I had a good chat with one of the Japanese Sony staff at the UK press launch - I will contact him next week to find out of he knows anything about plans for the Japanese market.
