I'm just fine tuning the packing for our 3 week week vacation to Western Canada. We are flying to Vancouver tomorrow morning.
The camera gear has become a bit of a dilemma as it ain't going in the checked in luggage and we only get a 5 kg limit on carry on luggage. At present my camera bag with the 1D + 17-40 lens and 100-400 weighs a fraction over 5kg. The 24-70 is going in a coat pocket till we have been checked in with bags weighed and then its going back in the camera bag.
I'm also taking, thanks to Ian and Olympus a lovely brand spanking new Olympus E-P1. You have probably seen it advertised on this site, its a neat little micro four thirds camera, and I have it on loan for the duration of my holiday in order to evaluate it and submit a gallery of photos on the Four Thirds User site. So, thats going in a pocket too until we are through check in
I hope to be logging in to the site whenever possible if there is a wifi link anywhere. I'll have my Mac Book Pro with me, and if I get the time and opportunity I may even post a pic or two taken in the Rockies
