problem getting on.

can anyone tell me why i'm having problems getting on this site. i keep getting 404s (page no found), or fatal errors. however, i do eventually get on. i have no problem getting on other sites, it's only this one. can anyone help?

Hi Dave,

Does e-group.uk.net work for you - this is one of our other sites.

Also, is it only forum pages, or other parts of the site?

hi Ian, i can never get onto the home page from going on my favourites. i always get a fatal error, and something about adverts, so i can only get on through the activation message you sent me when i joined. even then i often get a fatal error, and sometimes like today, a 404 page not found. i usually have to get in via activation message, account already activated - try logging in, and then by pressing either galleries, or discussion forums, but they often come up fatal error too. but once i'm on, it's usually ok. but it's really frustrating trying to get on. i have no problem with any other sites. my friend who works in IT reckons it's a site program error, but i don't know. it's a great site, just the site i've been looking for to further my photography skills, but it's a pig to get on. sorry!!

Assuming you've already cleared the cache and got rid of the old cookies (which can sometimes fix these problems) - if you're still having problems getting in try this ...

Bookmark the forum portal page, which is at

http://dpnow.com/forum2/cmps_index.php

See if you can get straight into the site via that link - then try going to the home page and other site links from that portal page.

Hope it might work for you. It's worth a try anyway.

thanx Pol, i can get on from your message, but i added this page to favourites and couldn't get on!! so i guess i'll just have to save your message and go on from that. thanx for that anyway.
