Cashback or Money Off........

Hi all. Have noticed recently whilst looking for a new camera for my daughter there are lots of 'Cashback' offers floating about.

Now I remember when I got my last DSLR I got one with the cashback offer and it took ages to get a cheque of them.

Does anyone know why they do this instead of offering say 70 to 100 pounds off the product?

Hi,

The cynic in me says that firstly not everyone will go to the trouble of filling in the form and sending it back. Secondly, names and addresses of people are extremely valuable so when you return the form they have your details. If you don't want them to use the details click the necessary box!
