Texas Instrument's new sensor - 2006

Hello All,

Earlier this year, Texas Instruments announced a new CCD sensor with high speed capture and a contrast ratio of 1 to 10,000 ( if I recall correctly ).

When I read the article I said to myself I can't wait to see this sensor in a camera.

Has anyone read / heard of updates on this product?

On paper this seemed like a ground breaking innovation for digital photography.

I am new to digital (2006) so I try to read and take notice of news info etc: regarding digital, I have not heard of this news, so cannot help, But as I will be upgradeing from my Fuji 9500 zoom to an SLR possibly next year when I can justify the expense compared to my ability, I too would be interested in this subject, as you say it sounds like a breakthrough in technology that will certainly be a boon to SLR/Medium format photographers especially, But I do suspect it will be very expensive.
