Re: Back up camera - My choice
I'm pleased to say I saw your fruit pix whilst looking through the latest images in the gallery and commented on one of them.
Your new purchase looks more than promising and am looking forward to seeing more of your images in the threads. As for the rebate I hope it was a surprise.
Regards. Barr1e

Re: Back up camera - My choice
Nice one Josh.
Had the LX3 been available when I got my G9 I may well have been swayed in that direction, largely because of the wideangle. But then the G10 was released with a wideangleSo I could see myself sticking with Canon, though tbh I can't help feeling it has too many pixels
I know exactly what you mean about the dSLR being too big. I didn't even take mine on holiday this year and stuck to the G9, it performed well, and the movie mode was superb, capturing those moments you can't do with a single frame.

Re: Back up camera - My choice
Very interested in your opinion as I had already decided to buy one, (next two or three weeks hopefully)
I shall also be trying to get the clip in view finder although that doesn't seem to have appeared yet, but it is promised. It will probably come out when the Leica version is launched.
Pictures you posted look to be pretty damn good.

Re: Back up camera - My choice
Good little story with lots of picturesthats what I like.
I no where you are all coming from with regards size and convenience as ive battled with this dilemer ever since I got a dslr, technology has moved so fast since then and now its arguable that something like a g9 or 10 can give possibly near as good a image as the dslr's of 5 years ago.
There are many benifits of such a compact and enjoy reading such a thorough post as this.
Ash.
