A moving and touching story told with feeling and a sadness only people in that situation would know, the images only amplify the words....JIM

It's all very clever, artistic stuff eh! Some of those galleries are amazing!

I wish he'd had a straightforward, quicker loading website though. I get quite impatient waiting for the loading and navigation systems at times.

Worth the wait though. That's the sort of work that makes me feel like giving up.

That is an amazing site, and thank you for sharing.

It reminds me so much of my father-in-law, who at 86 is in the same position. As he's no longer able to remember how to look after himself, he was put in a wonderful home last year after his wife of 62 years died. However, unlike the photographer's father, he did realise after a week that she was gone.

My son and I visited him a couple of weeks ago. He remembered my name for the first time in several years so we both ended up in tears.

That was a beautiful story Pol, and I shall share that site with my children.

It's such a touching tribute and I keep going back to have another look through it. So honest, so open and I also love the way he brings his mother back into the scene.

It reminded me of the very touching photo John Washington posted of his Dad, a photo that he'd taken just a week before his Dad passed away. JW, like Philip Toledano, managed to show the loving bond between father and son in an almost tangible way.

There's just the one photo of JW's father. Click on the 'entry info' beneath the photo and you'll see what he wrote +a few comments from some of the visitors to his blog of that time.

Dads are so very special and I feel those two photographers' images conveyed just how special they are.

Powerful stuff. Makes me think about the fractious relationship I have with my mother and how unnecessary it is.
