  • Introducing.... Yoshi!

Here is a world exclusive - as you may know, I had the great honour of meeting DPNow regular, Yoshi, during my recent visit to Tokyo. He travelled some distance to meet me on my last day in Tokyo. We managed to spend the short time available visiting two photo galleries in central Tokyo and enjoy a short lunch before I had to leave for the airport. And here is the group shot!:

Yoshi is very apologetic as he spends much of his time, out of Internet range, caring for his elderly mother in rural Fukushima, which means he can't post to the DPNow forum while he's out of town. But I'm sure you will all agree that we're just grateful for his interesting posts, when he can, and keeping us all updated with what's going on in Japan

    Re: Introducing.... Yoshi!

I am really pleased to see the photo of Yoshi (and you of course, Ian).

Earlier this year before our cruise to Hong Kong, Japan etc., I contacted Yoshi and he very kindly gave me lots of information about Naha, Okinawa.

Unfortunately, the wind was too high for our ship to anchor and the Port had been closed when we arrived, but I wont forget the friendliness of Yoshi's e mails and the trouble he went to to try to make our trip successful.

I look forward to seeing more of his postings and photographs, when he can get to the internet.

Morning Audrey - that's most typical of Yoshi - he's very kind and very keen to help.

        That's great!

Super picci showing a twinkle in Yoshi's eyes that matches the very obvious sense of humour he sometimes shows in the forums!

He very rightly questioned my use of the flash on the camera for the pic, but I was concerned that the waitress who took the pic wouldn't have a steady hand

Awwww, now you spoiled the illusion Pol, I thought you were a serious and entirely trustworthy member of the community, but now I detect a note of, dare I say it, sarcasm?

                    Hi Ian and everybody,
Many thanks for your warm words, It was my big pleasure to be able to see Ian while he was in Japan this time. Although it was first time to see him, I did not feel so at all. Maybe because I have seen his pics (face, I mean) several times at DPNow and talked with him many many time by now.
I'm awfully sorry for not being able to say thank you all much earlier. I'm not yet back to my home and read your messages at an internet cafe in Hokkaido.
