I know it is staring me in the face somewhere but how do I delete a picture in my gallery as I have no room left for my entry in the salon comp..?

There is an edit icon under your picture which opens a dialogue that will allow you to delete a photo. However I would urge you not to delete anything that has been used on the forums as it will leave the thread incomplete. It is even possible that if you PM Ian he will increase your allowance. Keep your files around the 800kb mark though and you will get loads in the space allocation

Hi Ian if it is at all possible a bit more space would be welcome.

What I tend to do when uploading is upload the picture at the size it was downloaded. I am not sure if your software resizes but I will reduce the size of pictures before I upload them in a bid to save bandwidth!

Yes, the gallery will make a 600 wide version of an image if it is larger, but it will also show the original size.

I recommend a size of around 700-800 pixels wide, or 700 pixels tall if vertically orientated. This should allow too keep the file size to around 200K by adjusting the JPEG compression, without sacrificing quality.

You should have some extra space by tomorrow morning.

I'm trying to delete 2 photos from my gallary and can't seem to figure out how to do it. I go to Galleries, click on My Photos, click on the photo... and there is no edit icon there! Am I missing something? How do I get rid of them?

The gallery software has changed a little since previous instructions were given, and so the method for deleting images has changed too.

After opening your picture as you describe, you will see a small down arrow in the grey album path bar, on the extreme right. Click this and you get the option to Edit Photo. The resulting dialogue has a check box towards the bottom which allows the photo to be deleted.

Please note though that if the photo you are deleting has been used on the forum, then it will leave a blank space and therefore the thread incomplete, which is not recommended I suspect the reason you want to delete is because the version is too big, which is fair enough. If you can't work it out or have problems let us know and we can do it for you.
