  • Adobe customer services

I requested a cross platform exchange of CS3 early last year. They needed certain information about the existing PC versions I had and I had to sign a Letter of Destruction, though they didn't need the PC versions sending back. I was telephoned nearly 3 weeks ago by Adobe who wanted my CC details for the delivery charge, which seemed fair enough, and the new disc was promised within 5 days. On Monday I rang them as it still hadn't arrived and was promised they would 'escalate' the issue. Anyway they have just rung me to say it should be dispatched today.

So for the last 6 or 7 weeks I have been without my Photoshop and I'm naffed off with Adobe for taking so long. Its just lucky I have Lightroom and been able to manage for most things, though nothing creative has been possible.

I just hope it arrives by the end of the week.

If it was possible, I would have thought they would perhaps recomend you download the trial for the Mac, and then generate a product key for you.

    Sounds fairly quick and easy!

6 to 7 weeks is appalling!

I suppose thats too easy I did use the trial version for a month but when it expired I thought I'd better do something about getting an exchange disc

        Re: Adobe customer services

Stephen, last week I read about someone else with exactly the same problem. (They had a Mac). I decided not to send it to you as (a) I wasn't sure whether you had received yours and (b) if not I did not want to upset you. This person was really naffed off with Adobe though.

PS I am just wondering why I had written the above, but I suppose it is because you will realise that you are not the only one.

Thanks for that Audrey, in a way it does make me feel better, as I feel more justified in whingeing about it, not to mention the poor responses I gave to the online survey they asked me to fill in about my experience with customer services.

When you install it, go for the month's free subscription to lynda.com. The other freebies aren't even in the same league as a free month with Lynda.

None of my other previous version freebies ever arrived anyway.

Thanks Pol, can't remember what I did last time when I installed the PC version, seem to remember a free font or something I never used. There are of course some video tutorials on the separate support disc, so will delve into that in due course

I've never gone for the free fonts on offer but I've asked for the free Photoshop user magazines on previous versions - but the magazines never arrived.

The Lynda offer is brilliant. The good thing about Lynda.com is that it isn't just for Photoshop. It's an extensive training site for loads of other software across a huge range. You'll discover all sorts of tricks, tips an tools you hadn't even realised existed (then probably forget them again if you're owt like me)

                  You'd love it.
