  • HDR question

    Hi Guys

I've treated myself to some HDR software and one question has come up so far.

    Merging images.

Is it a question of shooting one shot in raw then creating 3 images with -2, 0 and +2 ev then merge within the software.

    or

Shooting 3 x images at bracket ev then merge within the software.

    Thoughts.

Bracket then merge within the software is the best, and correct, way to do it.

That's the only way to get 3 (or 5) genuine different exposures, which means you'll have a lot more original information.

I'd agree with Pol, separate exposures is the way to go, though obviously this restricts you to the type of photo you take. Moving objects for example can't be done by bracketing, so in these instances the next best thing is to get 2 exposures from a single Raw file
