Thank's, forgot to mention I would only use it with wireless flash but it should'nt make any difference I suppose.

20 paces is probabaly more than I would want to use it at as it would replace my 10 metre cable, so obviously I'm never more than 10metres from the camera.

Does it do 'half shutter press' as I can't see that mentioned in the blurb and I would need it using an STE-2

I see they have another similar model that does say it will do that.

Does it also work if you put the camera side-on with the reciever on the blindside, as it were.

It seems to use a half depress during which the camera will focus, the button can be kept half depressed. As for using it on its blind side, I wouldn't recommend this as it seems to need a definite line of site
