Haha, bet that got you to look. But seriously I've been unable to access the DPNow site and siblings for the last 36hrs. Its just started working again for me. It seems to have been a local issue with Virgin Media cable, friends and neighbours on the same BB connection have been having similar probs. For what its worth this is the first problem of its kind I've had with cable BB and certainly since VM took over, I just don't seem to get the issues that folk on ADSL have. If you watched the Gadget Show on Ch5 the other night, the feature on BB was interesting. I checked my speed and it said 3.8mbps, I pay for 4 so I'm not unhappy with that

Re: 36 hrs of cold turkey
I guess all suppliers are entitled to an hiccup now and again.
I know it's not related to your experience but tonight I am experiencing a great slow down with the forum pages loading. Pages are taking 20/22 seconds to load but the rest of the web is fine for me.-------------------------

Yes, this has been noticed. I think I know what the problem is - am devising a fix at the moment, maybe tomorrow some time before we can try it.Originally posted by Pops View PostI guess all suppliers are entitled to an hiccup now and again.

Re: 36 hrs of cold turkey
I always watch the gadget show. It is superb, I tried a check after, and of course, couldnt get on, I thinkt eh world and his wife were all trying to check at the same time. If your paying for 'up to' 4, and your getting 3.8, I dont think that is too bad.Originally posted by Stephen View PostHaha, bet that got you to look. Oh, and if you find a way of contacting Virgin, without having to pay their stupid costs, let me know!

I have 3meg BB, and I am getting 3.940! haha
If you cant get the Gadget Show one to work (I couldnt) you can go to www.speedtest.net (which is actually where the gadget show gets theirs from)

Re: 36 hrs of cold turkey
We only have two providers over here of which they are cable and wireless now called sure and wave. Being in the channel Islands we are stuck with those two but a 3rd could be on its way. Some India firm which I think backed by virgin is already in Jersey and could be in Guernsey some time in the new year.

Well Peter I thought we were badly served, compared to some other parts of the world. Just goes to show there is always someone else worse off. Hope things improve soon for you.Originally posted by peter View PostWe only have two providers over here of which they are cable and wireless now called sure and wave.
