In May, I traded in a flashgun and Tamron 18-250 lens for a Nikon 18-200 VR lens, for my project with Satmap and the Active 10; while on Philip Dunn's photographic course at the weekend. (Courtesy of friends on REME Past & Present and eBay)
Philip asked me to take a downwards shot of some fungi to demonstrate side-light with a flash (knew I should have kept the flash
) and I noticed that the Nikon lens was creeping/sliding forwards. (The lens does not have lens creep, it has lens sprint as it slides forwards at a rapid rate of knots to its full focal point while held in this position)
Philip told me that it should not do so and today I contacted the company I received it from and it is going back for repair. It could not have happened at a worse time (on second thought's maybe it was good that it happened when it did, or I would never have known that it was faulty) as I received the Active 10 last Thursday and can now start on the route articles but now I cannot take photos
