Help With Files That Won't Open

There is one folder on my drive and it's contents will not open. They are all Jpegs. When I try to open them in Photoshop this message appears:

"Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found"

In windows and fax viewer the message;

"No preview available" appears.

Has this something got to do with file associations?
Any help and advice appreciated.

I just been doing a bit of research on this one Tom.

I reckon it maybe because you have converted from a tiff file or similar, 16bit file?

A couple of things to try, try renaming as .jpg, or try renaming as a .tiff file, and opening.

Also, try right mouse clicking, and 'open with' then resaving.

Let me know how this one goes!

Worse case scenario, email a file to me, and I will have a look.
