I seem to remember seeing a price for one of these somewhere but can't find it now.
Can you help Ian or anybody, just a rough idea.

No idea about UK price but our site says it's 105K yen, around 660 Euro?

Do you plan to add GPS?

There was a company showing earlier this year at Focus, NEC that made third party grips considerably cheaper than Canon.
I can't remember the name now but they had a massive, massive range. Lets hope they do a compatible wi-fi grip.

I suppose Canon see a wi-fi grip as appealing to professionals only and as such price it accordingly, and indeed reading Canon forums it certainly seems to have it a cord. But at the price quoted it will sell principle only to pros. Lower the price and I bet significantly more units would be sold and hopefully reduce manufacturing costs.
I know at a reasonable price over the standard grip, I would order one with the new camera.

Hadn't thought of that Stephen, good point. I was looking at some cheap copies of my 350D's grip on eBay only last night. I normally prefer to buy branded accessories but if the price isn't right then I might be tempted to go 3rd party...

Canon wanted silly money, I thought, for their cable release, so I bought a copy one from HK for a fraction of the cost. It works just fine. Even if it packed up I'd buy another one and still be well in pocket
