Just to say many thanks for being made so welcome yesterday on trip to Oxford - greatly enjoyed the day - great venue, great company.

The shot of the "Squirrel paparazzi" is the one that hits the spot for me.

I'm sitting here roflmao at the way that little squirrel is posing for them. The 'pappy snapping' crowd 'getting it right' is also a joy to behold.

          10/10 for that one.

What a lovely happy photo. It's funny, I thought I would be able to guess who you all are, but all I think I know are Andrew with Patrick next to him on the far right. Or it could be Andrew in the doorway feigning sleep.

Is Mike Parr the tall man with glasses next to the doorway?

            The ladies? I haven't a clue.

Can you put some names to faces for me please.

Ah! well, I wrote the above this morning before I had seen the names underneath. Just shows how wrong one can be.

Hope to make the meet next time round.

Nice to see the images so far. Keep them coming.

              Hi Audrey,

Check out the text underneath, it has all the names in order there.

Some great shots guys and gals, and I REALLY wish I could have made it. Ah well, maybe next time round.

By the way, whats the story about the guy from 'Noo Joirsey' ?

Ok Steven, tried that - I think it's produced a better image: http://dpnow.com/galleries/data/809/Oxford_pano.jpg.

However, must learn not to frame panos with foliage which blows in the breeze

Sorry Ben, that was me being somewhat facetious.

He was a very nice American man who saw someone's camera (Ian's, I think) and said that he had one of those, although not with such a large lens. Ian explained who we were, and where we'd come from, and he said that he came from New Jersey. His accent somewhat resembled that of Danny De Vito's... and that's where I came up with the idea for the title

                      Re: Trip to Oxford

                      Hi All
Thanks for the great day out with a lovely bunch of people - I am still quite knackered having done the early stint with Andrew, climbed the tower of St Mary's and then in the evening caught the bus to Wooten which I had been informed was "close" to Boars Hill. It turned out to be a 5 mile hike there and back. Have just recovered enough to drag myself into work this morning and although I did manage to get some pics on a disk (don't have internet at home) forgot to bring them with me so will have to wait until tomorrow to load them up.

Thanks to Stephen too for all his support albeit only in spirit - we definitely felt your presence esp Andrew and I in the early morning although the conditions weren't particularly great at that time due to heavy cloud cover.

                      Cheers
                      Sue

Re: Oxford market mural with Caz

Caz was a very obliging model

I decided a faintly tinted mono rendition would work best here. I don't normally frame my shots as I'm too lazy! - This is a super simple frame; does it work OK?

Personal choice I'd say, my personal preference is 1 pixel stroke line surrounded by a 50pixel addition to the canvas in an opposing colour, if this is white I often add another 1 px stroke in Black

I think it works well and the picture is quite unusual and conveys a happy relaxed atmosphere of summer holiday shopping.

Just to demonstrate how dozy I was this morning I put my disk in my computer then five minutes later looked for it in the box which was of course empty by that time. Anyhow I have uploaded them now. This is a shot taken from Boars Hill - worth the effort of getting there I think.

Sue, I know you did the early shift, but now I really know how much walking you did! Full marks for the effort!

I really like your punts composition, but the way .

Trevor uses these heavy frames on his pictures, I find them distracting and much prefer delicate framing.
Other than that the picture work very well.
