any way of getting rid of that on threads?
bl**dy annoying having to click the headers multiple times to see the posts. using hybrid view and got my settings set to 40 thingies per page. still no difference!

e.g. this thread - http://dpnow.com/forum2/showthread.php?t=332
has at least 2 "more replies....." in the threaded list at the top.

looks like i'm going to have to change to linear view mode

Hi Dave,

Funnily enough that had been nagging away at me as well and after a bit of digging I found the variable to increase the number of displayed posts on each 'branch' of the thread and I have changed it from 5 to 10.

It's possible that I could increase this further, we'll just have to see how future mega threads develop

I understand there is a potential performance problem with some huge threads as all the messages in the thread that are displayed in the thread tree must be dug out of the database and on some boards this has caused waits of several minutes before the thread has been fully displayed - though that's a thread with thousands of posts, it has to be said.
