  • An Invitation

Its short notice I know, but we've been waiting to see how the weather pans out for this week. Andrew Thatcher, Bearface and myself of going on a shoot this Wednesday. Specifically we are hoping to get up to [ame="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Bamburgh,+Northumberland +NE69,+United+Kingdom&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=39.592876,96.328125&ie=UTF8&cd=1&ll =55.611166,-1.710627&spn=0.006908,0.023518&t=k&z=16&om=1"]Bamburgh in the NE[/ame] for around sunrise.

Now so as not to appear elitist or not being open to other members tagging along, I'm offering an open invitation to anyone else who may be brave enough to join us.

If anyones interested feel free to PM us, we can meet there or we will have 1 spare seat in the car leaving from Wakefield and going up the A1. We will be leaving very early though

You lucky people! That was always of my favourite locations during my youth.

I can't go but I'll be looking forward to seeing the results of your trip.

Nice idea and thanks for extending the invite - would really love to do a "group shoot" some day especially with such skilled people - I work full days weekdays though so only weekends available for me. Hope you guys enjoy yourselves and looking forward to seeing your pics.

Time to pull a "sickie", perhaps..?

If it's any consolation, we're meeting at Stephen's place at 1am on Wednesday morning so that we can get to the location for around 4am to weigh up the best angles to make the most of the dawn light. By lunchtime we'll be zombified....

              Re: An Invitation

Well FP, I don't work Wednesdays or any day any more (only at home) , but at 1 am tomorrow I shall be in bed getting my beauty sleep.

Much as I also would love to join "The Professionals", I could only manage it during the day. So "Professionals" if you decide to have a meet at a more reasonable time of day and within a suitable driving distance of Worksop count us in.

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, however, our Photographic Society is Meeting for an evening shoot at Southwell Minster at 7.30 pm. Anyone interested in coming along to join us, please PM me.

Ah, well I'm sufficiently beautiful (can't speak for the other two, however...) so the missed hours of sleep will not be, er...........missed

Worksop's only about 45 mins from Stephens house! Andrew is traveling from Birmingham tomorrow (about 2.5 hours) to get to Stephen's for 1am, and then we'll be driving for another 3 hours to get to the NE coast.............sometimes you've gotta focus on the destinations, rather than the journies themselves...

Will there be foot massages followed by comfy sleeping bags and soothing music? If so, count me in...

                  Re: An Invitation

One of our members of the WPhS frequents Bamburgh. He will leave home in the early hours to arrive at Bamburgh in time for sunrise and shoots back home in time for breakfast. That's what I call dedication. He always offers us lifts, but he usually leaves in the early hours.

Here is a link to some of his pictures. Two are of Bamburgh, but the original ones he posted were of the castle at dawn.

To navigate to his pics, click the icon at the bottom left of the galleries and click on to Keith Naylor. His gallery is third down on the right hand side on the first index page.

He is showing two of Bamburgh, this time of the Lighthouse.

You're a bit further south than me then - just checked and it's 275.7 Haven't skived much either.... but since I've just had a day out of the office on a course, don't think I dare risk it... Going to go in tomorrow and put all this 'time management' stuff into action by telling the office manager where to stick her extra work..... this 'delegatee' has had enough!

The Oxford meet sounds good tho - not far at all!
