Re: too little, too late?
Hi Ben,
yeah, you are of course right. No doubt about it.
I just want to add though that improving quality is even more difficult than simply increasing shots.
Until I found yesterday that the total shots did not increase compared to film days, I had been confident that I did have used the dSLR much much more frequently than film cameras. - so it was a surprising finding.
I think I now found the reason for it after having a good sleep.
It's AEB (automatic exposure bracketing).
For film cameras I almost always used AEB (with tripods of course). It triples the number of shots for one scene. I continuously used AEB for dSLR during the first year and then stopped using AEB for most of the cases in the second year. Post processing, if necessary, and more handheld shots are the reasons.
So I think I can say that although total number of shots has not increased at all compared to film days, the number of scenes i took pictures must have increased tremendously. Roughly speaking, between the year 1 and 2, the number of scenes of which pics I took seems to have increased by nearly nine times or so.? - that matches to my feeling. A pleasant sigh.
will try more to improve quality. Thanks Ben.

Re: too little, too late?
Hi Yoshi, did you originally shoot slide film? This is my guess as you don't really need to bracket negative film.
12 rolls of film a month was a very high rate of shooting for a film camera
One other thing - are you counting the number of images in your image library or the camera's frame counter? Do you count rejected images that have been deleted?
Interesting topic!

Re: too little, too late?
Hi Ian, yes I used slide films. I shot during those days between 150 to 200+ slide films a year. Only exceptinally i used negative films - maybe a few rolls a year or so for printing and delivering to acquaintances. For this purpose I used a compact camera that was more convenient to shoot. - so I'm looking for a small compact digicam now with higher priority than DSLR.Originally posted by Ian View PostHi Yoshi, did you originally shoot slide film? When counted, I used the file number given by the camera (I keep them in both HDD and DVD-R) and yes, I counted all the shots including the deleted ones.
If somebody else is ready to count the cumulative shots until now, I woulb be glad to know it.
