I know there re a lot of people that don't like them (though this does seem to be directly linked to living near them) but I think the are magnificent structures that often have a beauty all their own, like this one.

Hey don't get me started on windfarms and their effect on the landscape Having said that the flat agricultural lands of Norfolk, away from large populated areas and major roads seems as good a place as any.

Ah - don't get me wrong, they need to be sited with care and respect for the local community, but I do detect an over-sensitivity to wind farms in some quarters. People also say they are noisy, too, but there is one a couple of miles from me in Kings Langley and I have never heard it. One nice thing about wind farms that they can be dismantled and the land returned to its former situation.

Oddly enough the summer-like conditions at Photokina this year (I was still comfy in a short-sleeved shirt late at night in Cologne this week) was the gloomy topic of many a conversation about global warming during the show.

I really do fear the planet will wake up too late to the disaster that is on our doorstep.
