photo problem

  • photo problem

    can someone advise please,
    took an sd card with a photo on it, into jessops, result... top of picture cut off, that evening, replaced photo in photoshop checked size, seemed correct, used the drop down menu in photoshop, on having the photo processed the next day,,, top of photo still cut off,,,

    photo was 8x10, anyone help please,,,,,john

    If you have a dslr the standard format is 3x2 so to get the full image you would need an 8x12 print so the 8x10 has 2" chopped off.

    Same with a 7x5 print which is still a very common size, it should be 7x51/2 for the full image which again is 3x2 format.

      yes Mick i use a nikon d40 dslr
      instead of using their machine at jessops i shall ask to have it printed to 8x12
      or 7x51/2, just printed it out on my picturemate 6x4, same result, i have to say, i see the difference in quality from the nikon as against the little point & shoots i had previously,,,, john

        John, when you say you printed at ''6x4, same result'' do you mean part of the image is still missing or it's ok because at 6x4 you should have the full image.

            Have you cropped or resized it then in Photoshop or similar?

                There's your answer then.

                You have cropped it at a different ratio equal to 8x10.

                Are you using Photoshop?
