Re: For Mum (Canon or Nikon?)
HI Brian,
Clearly the one labeled 'Canon' is either over-exposed or the result is too light in the post processing. The comparison is not very meaningful without some background as to how they were taken. The Nikon image has exif data but the Canon doesn't. And as flash was used, it's even more difficult to know what the exposure really was for each picture.

Re: For Mum (Canon or Nikon?)
Oi!Pol = I'm strictly neutral!
The comparison is meaningless!
I could make a box browny picture look better than Brian's Canon example
Ian
PS, is this a record for the use of smileys in one post

So are you suggesting your old, but no doubt well preserved, Box Brownie could out perform my Pentax.
Huh! That does it!
Daggers at dawn then m8 .... strictly no flashing either!

Looks like I may have to sell my Canon based on this test!
Which cameras were used Brian?

Having 2 Nikons so far, that seemed to be true.
After got my two Pannys, I must say that I'm really surprised of their macro capabilities and I wouldn't put my hand on fire for Nikon's macro anymore, at least half of the times.
