  • Outsourcing your editing !

Having seen 3 posts on our forum in recent days, relating to outsourcing editing.

I was wondering. How many members have, or would consider paying to have their photos edited for them.

I have to admit, that until now. I didn't even know such services were available.

From my own view point. I don't see the point in these services. Taking the photo and editing it myself, is all a part of my photography.

Maybe professional photographers who take hundreds and hundreds of photos use them.

But I would be surprised if many serious photographers did.

So ! Back to my question. Have you ? or would you use these services ?

    Re: Outsourcing your editing !

NO in short. I don't see any self respecting professional or keen amateur using this kind of service. Maybe there is a need here for anyone who has absolutely no photographic skills and are trying to portray themselves as a professional wedding or portrait photographers. With the modern digital cameras it is quite easy to just point and shoot everything and anything at a wedding and then pass the slapdash results on to an editing service and end up with some sellable shots. I make this statement as only a few years ago a member of my family got married abroad and the quality of the images was so bad they asked me to edit them for them.
It would be quite interesting to see the results of such a service i.e. showing the original images and the finished work.

Agreed! I didn't think any self respecting photographer would use a service like this.

      Thanks for your input.
